Troubleshooting steps to setup the Netgear Orbi Wi-Fi Mesh system:

  • Connect the modem to the WAN port of the Orbi router using an Ethernet cable.
  • Now, connect the Netgear Orbi to a power source. Wait for the Orbi router’s light to turn white in color.
  • Connect the Orbi satellite to the power source. Wait for the Orbi’s satellite light to turn solid white and then pulsing magenta in color.
  • The Netgear Orbi will then notify the user whether the connection between the Orbi router and the Orbi satellite is good or not.
  • If the connection is good, the Netgear Orbi Wi-Fi Mesh System will have been successfully setup.

Troubleshooting steps to login to the Netgear Orbi:

  • Connect the computer or laptop to the Netgear Orbi using an Ethernet cable.
  • Type in the address bar and press enter.
  • The Netgear Orbi admin login page will appear prompting the user for the default username and password.
  • The default username is “admin” and the default password is “password” for Netgear Orbi Wi-Fi Mesh Systems.
  • After successfully logging in to the router, the web based interface will appear for Netgear Orbi.
Once the user has successfully logged in to the Netgear Orbi Wi-Fi Mesh System, it is advised that the user changes the default username and password for their home network to better secure their network and its shared data.

How to Sync Orbi Router and Orbi Satellite?

  • To sync your Orbi satellite with the Orbi routers, make sure it is in the same room will setup.
  • Place the satellite in the same room where you placed the router for sync process.
  • Plug the power to your satellite.
  • Press the Power On/Off button.
  • The satellite’s ring LED will turn to solid white or magenta.
  • Press the sync button on the router and within 2 minutes press sync button on the satellite.
 The satellite’s ring LED pulses white, then lights one of the following colors for about three minutes and then turns off.
  • Blue- This means router and satellite is synced successfully and connection is good.
  • Amber- This means router and satellite is synced successfully but connection is fair. Move the Satellite closer to the Orbi router.
